WHAT MAKES A NATION

Nation, without knowing its own identity is like a sailboat going nowhere even in the calm sea. We need to see first our role in the land we are stepping into, and utilize and protect what’s in it.

To be called a nation, we all have a vital role basically as a part of family which is the smallest unit of a community. A country without a vocation can not be a nation. Progression is a key to what fulfills a nation.

The ideals of the majority is always the decision of the authorities of the country (well, of course it’s dependent on the form of government existing in each country). The perspective of a person determines what would become his nation.

We are people. We are what makes history. The future generation makes another history through what we have imparted to them as it is recorded in the events of a nation.

If we’d come to the point of really understanding our importance in the nation we belong to, then we’ll make a better future. The wisdom that was given us will be of use if we are to think of what will make this world as a whole a better place to live in tomorrow.

The time is now for us to pass on better ideals. Let us seize every opportunity to make every ear hear and listen what we’ve got to say.
Our country, the Philippines for example is very rich in natural resources, in values, in knowledge. The Filipinos are gifted with I believe extraordinary intellect and physical strength to cope with every circumstance the country is facing right now, not to mention poverty. And it’s about time that we don’t waste an effort of really looking into the strength that we’ve got as a nation.

Objective and unselfish living will always produce a great change. As it is said, ‘ no man is an island”, we should think of others too and all of us would benefit from it.

What makes a nation is the result of the past and the present. What makes a nation is a future that can still be changed by the present that is being worked out today. And it means us. You and me. This is our territory. Let’s learn and be knowledgeable and pass it on. We can’t give what we don’t have. Let’s seize opportunities and explore and learn and impart.
